The 2011 Mazda Speed3 delivers the goods!

There is only one word that comes to mind when I think of the majority of the Mazdas I have ever driven, FUN! Mazda builds affordable, fuel efficient, performance oriented vehicles that seem to be quite reliable and trustworthy, but most importantly they are a blast to drive. The engineers at Mazda have brought some legendary vehicles to our shores over the last few decades. The first one that comes to mind is the RX-7, then the RX-8, and then one of the most important roadsters of all time the Mazda Miata. Steeped in that tradition comes the 2011 Mazda Speed3 and it delivers one of the most entertaining drives that you'll find under $30,000. The Mazda Speed3 was redesigned in 2010 and while most people loved it a few people thought the new front fascia was just too much to handle. I personally love the style of this car even if it looks like it's smiling back at you from the front end. Perhaps the car is smiling, letting everyone know that the Mazda Speed3 is providing a good time at an affordable price. From the hood scoop to the european inspired 18" wheels these Speed3's are stunning. Today's 2011 Mazda Speed3 is a vicious looking little hatchback. From the sides this car looks like it could stun anything on the road. Our 2011 Mazda Speed3 is done up in a light gray metallic paint job and inside it has probably one of the coolest interiors you'll find for under $30,000. Today's version has black leather seating with red baseball stitching running down the seams. I personally love the red baseball stitching and it truly makes the interior look phenomenal. Inside this Mazda Speed3 has a list of luxury features that would keep any enthusiast happy for years. From the second you open the door you are greeted with a long list of cool features. The first thing I noticed was the aluminum pedals and aluminum kick plate. Then I remembered that they only come in manual version and all of a sudden my heart started race. This was going to be a fun drive, and now I'm pumped up for today's drive. Once inside the cockpit I start to get comfortable which was easy to do. Every button seems to be placed right where you would like it to be, and the seating was very supple and secure. My only complaint would've been the tiny Navigation screen they use. Most smart phones have bigger display screens than this Navigation unit, but I don't use Navigation very often anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. Under the hood the 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 has a turbocharged 2.3-liter engine. Packing 263 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and it can get you to 60 mph in a quick 6.3 seconds. The car has beautiful exhaust notes and I can't wait to get to the nearest expressway. Right off the bat I notice that this turbocharged engine may be almost to powerful for this chassis. When you truly step into the accelerator there is quite a bit of torque steer, but that's what I come to work for everyday anyway. The steering was quick, responsive, and smooth. The brakes were phenomenal, and the cornering was an absolute blast. Once on the freeway I couldn't find a vehicle that would want to tangle with this Speed3. These things are the real deal. It's hard to believe that you can get this much enjoyment out of a little hatchback like this, but it delivered in every category. I couldn't find one single thing I disliked about the Mazda Speed3, except it's miniature Navigation screen. For the money it's hard to believe anything could possibly compete with this car, but apparently it's contender's deliver the goods as well. The thing that most impressed me was the shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. You're practically screaming down the street before you even get to 3rd gear. All in all this car is awesome. From the styling, performance, handling, and price the Mazda Speed3 is no joke. If you are out shopping Lancer's, Civics, even Mustangs, the Mazda Speed3 should definitely get a test run, because I guarantee you'll be impressed. If you haven't given Mazda a chance, now is the time, because they went all out for the 2011 Mazda Speed3!

Introducing the 2nd Generation 2011 Scion TC

In 2002 Toyota Motor Company launched a new division under the name Scion. Toyota is no stranger to launching a new brand and they literally blew us all away back in 1999 when they launched Lexus and completely changed the face of the Luxury car market. Scion was originally marketed and directed at today's 20 somethings. Loaded with tons of standard features, almost limitless options, and a price point directed at America's youth, Scion came out firing on all cylinders. Since 2002 our economy has taken quite a tumble and the 20 something demographic that Toyota was aiming for went down with the rest of us. That being said Scion has not even come close to the notoriety of the Lexus, but Scion continues to chip away at their share of the market. Originally launched in 2004 The Scion TC was easily Scion's best looking and most attractive vehicle. The new 2011 Scion TC is in it's 2nd generation now, and while most of the TC's lines and design remained the same there was a much needed face lift. Today's 2011 Scion TC is dressed in a metallic black paint job and it's accented nicely inside with black cloth seating surfaces. To the untrained eye, she appears to be pretty much the same old TC, but after a little studying you can see and feel the new TC is drastically different. The TC is built on the same platform as the original 1st generation, but the engine, transmission, and suspension were tweaked for the better. When looking at the TC from afar she looks devastatingly fast as well as furious, but as the old saying goes "Don't judge a book by it's cover". The 2011 Scion TC is powered by a 2.5L inline 4 Cylinder engine, which gets 180 horsepower and 173lb feet of torque. The zero to 60 times look to be about 7.3 seconds which is far from impressive, but more than enough power for today's generation of driver's. On the inside the TC is pretty awesome looking. Very much like the cockpit in a jet even the inside of the TC looks fast. The coolest interior feature by far is the dual Panoramic moonroof which can be set to let light and air in or sealed completely silent and dark. All of the gadgetry and technology are within reach and nicely placed, nothing is overdone or to flashy, but she's very well appointed. The seats feel sporty yet comfortable and the 6 speed transmission is a blast to shift through. I took the TC out on I-65 North and she had plenty of power to run with the traffic. Despite the oddly shaped steering wheel the handling was nimble, but still sporty. Whipping in and out of position was no issue and a good driver could have a ton of fun in the TC. With most sport model vehicles the suspension is stiff, but this car felt very nice and secure. Corners were fun, there was no real body roll issue and the braking was very responsive . All in all the car is a fun car to drive and it is quite different than it's competitor's from Honda or Ford. The only real set back to me was the design of C-Pillar which seemed unsually blocky and pretty squarely shaped. The TC got alot of attention at stop lights though and you could see the look from the passers by trying to make out what kind of make and model the TC is. Overall the styling is bold, very aggressive, and perfect for the 20 somethings of today's marketplace. There's plenty of storage inside and the gas mileage is very good on the highway at around 31mpg. The thing I've noticed most with the Scion's is there ability not to depreciate. They seem to hold their value nicely and even after a year or two of driving the car it is still in the ballpark that you originally paid for the car. In today's car market almost everyone leaves the dealerships upside down, but with the Scions you seem to get alot for your money. If you are out shopping Civics, Focuses or anything in this class, I would definitely take the time to drive the 2011 Scion TC, she is definitely a contender and she looks faster than the whole lot combined.

Georgetown KY's own the All New 2011 Toyota Avalon

Since February 21st, 2004, Toyota's Georgetown, KY plant has been delivering Toyota Avalons to happy customer's all over the United States. Released as a 2005 model, the Avalons have since been known for their luxurious ammenities, safety ratings, and overall reliability. The Avalons are built in the same plant as the Camry, and the Camry has long been one of America's sweethearts. The Avalon is essentially a Camry just stretched out, more luxurious, and a tad bit more sophisticated. So, if you can, just imagine one of the World's most dependable and trusted vehicles with more luxurious styling inside and out, and a much smoother ride. Today's Avalon is a 2011 model dressed in a green metallic paint job and accented beautifully inside with supple gray leather seating surfaces and beautiful wood grain trim. As I make my laps around the 3rd generation Avalon, she seems to be much larger than previous models and definitely looks longer. They have stretched her out from 191.9 inches long to 197.2 inches long and it is definitely noticeable to anyone who is familiar with the previous Avalons. As with every other manufacturer in the World, Toyota has added LED lighting to the front and rear lights which gives it a very stunning and classy look when approaching the front or rear ends. The side of the vehicle is not sculpted much and seems to be pretty much just flat sheet metal, and at a 197.2 inches that's a lot of blank space, but she's still nicely designed. Overall the car is very attractive and well appointed from the outside. Inside the cabin the cockpit almost mimics a base Lexus at every corner. Let's face it Toyota knows how to build and market luxury cars, and they've been doing so with Lexus since 1989. The Avalon is nothing short of a luxury car, and she delivers luxury everywhere you look. The list of features for this 2011 Toyota Avalon is long. It's well equipped with Power All, Rear View Camera, Power Sunroof, Universal Garage Door Openers, Heated Seats, Keyless Access, and one of the largest cabins you'll find in a car. The steering wheel feels way better weighted than the Camry, and the textures used inside are top notch. Once on the road the Avalon drives smooth and brakes well. The Avalon is suprisingly quick and agile for her size though. While meant to be a cruiser the car still has awesome straight ahead power. The 3.5 L V-6 puts out 268 Horsepower and these Avalons can get up and go from a complete stop. The highway ride is extremley cushy, but does give you some bounce on road imperfections and bumps. The cornering wasn't phenomenal and there was some body roll, but this isn't meant to be a sports car. These were built for the long ride and once I'm on the expressway, I'm in complete comfort. The sound system is awesome, the seats are warm, the steering is nice, and the big car doesn't seem so big once you are cruising at 65-70 miles per hour. If my profession called for lots of driving or travelling this would definitely be one of my top picks. I could literally see myself driving this car from one end of the country to the other with no real issues. As far as space goes inside, she has room for 5 adults to sit comfortably and the backseats seem monsterous. Even with the front seats all the way back, there aren't too many folks who wouldn't be comfortable back there. The 5 speed sequential shift transmission that they've mated to V-6 is very calm and well behaved, and I felt little or no lag or shifting as I ran the car up the expressway. All in all the Avalon is a very well built vehicle, built right here in my home state of Kentucky. There really wasn't anything I disliked about the car. It would be way too big for just my daughter and myself, but if you have a growing family and want to stay in a car, this would be a solid pick. I would also recommend the Avalons to anyone who travels several thousand miles a year in a vehicle, or transports clients from one location to another. Toyota has built almost the perfect highway car. Walking away from the car I can't help but think, how awesome it is that a idea that started on a drawing board in Japan, has made it's way all the way to Georgetown, KY to come to fruition. This makes me proud to be an American and a dreamer. It just goes to show anything can and will happen!

The Luxurious Beast that is the 2011 GMC Yukon Denali

GMC is more than likely not the first name plate you think of when the word Luxury manufacturer comes to mind. However, the GMC Yukon Denali is changing that every single day and on every single test drive. The 2011 GMC Yukon Denali is a premium SUV that can take on any of the Luxury SUV's in terms of Luxury, Ride, Performance, Styling, and Value. Not only is the Yukon Denali gorgeous with it's masculine styling and bold agressive front grille, but it delivers in every category that you would test or compare a luxury vehicle by. The 2011 GMC Yukon Denali that we currently have in stock is built on the same exact chassis as the Cadillac Escalade and also uses the same exact 403 Horsepower, 6.2 L V-8, six speed transmission, and full time all wheel drive system. Despite the size and overall weight the truck is very quick and nimble on it's feet, and I was really impressed by the overall performance. The Denali is built on a truck frame, but you won't even notice unless you are on a rocky terrain. In town the truck has a nice turning radius and wouldn't be to hard to manuever in the mall parking lot. Overall the Denali delivers in every department. I love the styling, the ride quality, and I absolutely love the interior. The 2011 Denalis are gorgeous, quiet, smooth, quick, and roomy. When it comes to SUVs of this size, the Denalis are one of my favorites and if you drive one I bet they'll make it on your list as well. If you are in the market for a Luxury SUV the Denali should definitely get a look and a test drive, because it's worth every penny!

Redesigned in 2009, the 2011 Honda Pilot is the real deal!

For many years my family and myself have owned several Hondas. Honda is widely known and recognized for building dependable quality vehicles and my family has seen proof of this fact first hand. Over the years we have owned a CRX, countless Accords, and one Ridgeline. The one thing I can say about all of the said vehicles, is that all of them were worth every penny. We've never had any major issues or problems with the Honda product and they have always delivered a wonderfully reliable and easy to live with vehicle. The same can be said about the new 2011 Honda Pilot. The Pilot is Honda's mid-size crossover utility vehicle and it got a revamp for the 2009 model year. The revamp was much needed and it was handled perfectly. The Pilot received a very masculine and aggressive look and the flaws if any were taken care of and made better. The 2011 Honda Pilot I'll be driving is a EX-L model which is top of the line in Honda terms, and it is also a 4X4 model with a third row seat. This particular Pilot is dressed in a bright black metallic exterior paint job and it's accented perfectly inside with light gray leather seating surfaces. The cabin is well thought out and very vast inside. Once I am behind the steering wheel I make my normal adjustments and head off the lot for the closest expressway. The Pilot feels very solid and the interior materials are very durable and appeasing to the eye. The pilot has plenty of pick up, is extremely quiet and the transmission is almost unnoticeable. The ride was very pleasurable and smooth. The steering is tight and the brakes felt good as well. On corners and curves the Pilot has minimal body roll and felt safe at all times. The 250 horsepower 3.5 L V-6 is not exceptionally fast, but it is pleasant, responsive, and has a nice little purr coming from the exhaust. In day to day traffic this SUV would be a pleasure to drive. They are very well appointed inside and out, the ride is nice, and the styling is tough yet sophisticated. My only complaint if any would be the small buttons that Hinda uses for the stereo sytem as well as the climate control. Other than that this is a great vehicle, and I wouldn't let a little thing like small buttons keep me from purchasing one. The 3rd row isn't hug by any means, but it does allow for fold and go storage, and it would be very well suited for smaller people. This one has the Rear DVD/TV which is very nice and it also has the power sunroof which seemed pretty generous as far as size goes. The cabin feels huge once you are inside and I bet the Pilot would make for an awesome road trip vehicle. All in all I'd say the 2011 Honda Pilot is definitely worth a look and a drive. What we have come to know is that Honda builds awesome and reliable engines, their vehicles have great resale value, and they have a huge customer following. This should be plenty of reason to keep Honda in your search results no matter what kind of vehicle you are in the market for. We won't have this one long, but if you get a chance you should come by and see why a buying a pre -owned 2011 is a much better decision than going and buying a brand new one. The bottom line is, Honda still makes great vehicles and the 2011 Pilot is just another notch in their belt.

The 2010 Cadillac SRX redefines the term crossover

Lately all 7 of our locations have been selling our Cadillac inventory at an alarming rate. It seems within days of posting any Cadillac online we are turning around and selling the vehicle. Cadillac as a brand is as hot as ever right now and it is truly exciting to be around. I myself grew up around Cadillacs, in fact my grandfather never drove anything but Cadillacs. It was his thing and I respected and admired that at a very early age. That is why it is always my pleasure to see and drive the new Cadillacs when they show up in our inventory. Today's Cadillac will be the all new redesigned 2010 Cadillac SRX. The 2010 Cadillac SRX is considered to be a crossover and was originally released for the 2004 model year, and it resembled more of a station wagon for it's first generation than a SUV. The Cadillac SRX took home several awards and accolades and won Car and Driver's 5 Best Trucks "Luxury SUV" award for 2004, 2005, & 2006 and was nominated for North American Truck of the Year in 2004. The 2nd generation Cadillac SRX that I will be driving today is is the evolution of Cadillac's crossovers and they are a beautiful sight to behold. The new SRX is much taller and has really taken the crossover form versus the station wagon look of the previous generation. Today's SRX is stunning from every angle. Dressed in a dark gray metallic exterior paint job, accented with chrome, and styled perfectly. Inside this SRX, luxurious black leather seating, and dark wood grain graces every inch of this very well put together cabin. As one might expect from Cadillac these things have almost every ammenity known to man. This particular SRX has the Heated Seats, Air Cooled Seats, Moonroof, Bose Sound System, Rear View Camera, Power Everything, and way too much more to list. As I sit in the cockpit I arrange my seat, mirrors, steering wheel, and radio stations to my preferences. The engine for this SRX is the 3.0 litre V-6 which puts out about 265 Horsepower and is as quiet and peaceful as anything around. Once everything feels right and in place I take off on my little excursion headed towards Sellersburg, IN on I-65 North. This SRX feels awesome and I could see myself driving one on a regular basis. The steering feels fantastic, the power is just what you need, the braking is quick, and the suspension feels like your riding on clouds. All in all this SRX has everything going for it. When it finally came time to get on the expressway, I got the opportunity to open her up a little bit and the SRX's 3.0L engine has plenty of power. The engine is mated perfectly with a seamless and quiet 6 speed transmission that is as smooth as anything Cadillac builds. The SRX has plenty of get up and go, and when I finally hit a few corners, there was little to no body roll and I felt very safe at all times. I drove the car for quite a while, not because I needed to, but because I enjoyed driving the SRX. From a driver's stand point everything was within reach and I didn't see much that would distract a driver or cause them to take their eyes off the road. All in all the new SRX is a pleasure to drive and would be a wonderful day to day driver. I would highly recommend the 2010 SRX to any small family or anyone who needs an SUV, but does'nt want to pay an arm and a leg in fuel costs. Once again Cadillac has built a superstar and I expect that we will sell this SRX anyday. The 2nd generation design was much needed to get away from the station wagon look it carried before and Cadillac mastered the 2nd Generation design brilliantly. Guess who's coming to dinner! (The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO is back and all grown up)

Growing up I have always been a fan of Ford Motor Company as well as their founder Henry Ford. Louisville, KY is a Ford town, we have two major truck plants in town and if you've lived here more than 2 or 3 years, you know or have met someone who is employed by Ford Motor Company. When it comes to Ford trucks they make one of, if not the best trucks on the planet today. Their cars on the other hand are not really superstars with the exception of the Mustangs which have become an Icon for American car buyers over the years. I personally have never been a big fan of Ford cars. Their styling always seemed lame and the interior appoinments always feel and appear cheap. What I have seen lately though is a resurgence of sorts by the American car makers and what they put out on the market these days. Things are changing and they are changing rapidly. The cars they are building now, have more style, more spirit, more options, and perform way better than in previous decades. Ford hasn't put a Taurus SHO out since 1999, so when talk of the SHO arose, people began clamouring and the excitement was in the air. Our dealership has had several since their relaunch in 2010, but I had not yet had the chance to take one for a spin. Finally, a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO appears on my stock sheet and I can't wait for the thing to pass it's safety inspection and make it's way to me. The SHO we have is draped in a bright silver metallic and is much, much bigger than the Taurus's of yester year. Inside the cabin looks like some kind of space shuttle, but with very cool 2 tone leather on suede seating surfaces and brushed aluminum graces almost everything in the cavernous cabin. This SHO has the heated seats, the air cooled seats, Power Sunroof, Power everything, THX sound, Microsoft Synce, BlueTooth and loads of other features you don't normally see in a Ford car. There is no key just the MY Key system which consists of a key fob that is recognized when you touch the door handle. Once inside, you press the brake and press the Push Button Start button and awaken the 3.5-liter “EcoBoost” V-6 which makes 365 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. The engine features direct fuel injection, variable intake-valve timing, and two small turbochargers that put out a maximum of 12 psi of boost. There really isn't a roar from the engine and it's hard to even tell if the car is even on. It's almost hybrid silent but not quite. The interior is very well appointed and it does not remind me of anything Ford has ever put out before. It's fresh and the lines are clean. The seats feel phenomenal and I feel extremley safe and comfortable. The instrument panel is lit by a gorgeous light blue lighting and everything seems to be exactly where you would want it. Today's drive will be a quick one, probably about 20 minutes worth on the expressway and hopefully I can find a few nice S curves on the way back. Pulling off the lot I notice that the car has ample power and is very well mannered. She's smooth, yet agressive and the best part is that a passing police officer,will normally think it's just the old standard Taurus. She's not the standard Taurus though. When I enter the on ramp I give her a little gas and we are off to the races. 0-60 times are at about 5.2 seconds and there is little or no wheel slip at all. The steering feels great and the chassis feels very smooth with little or no body roll on the small corners at all. Before I even know it, I'm approaching my exit ramp which was literally 5 miles away, but I was there in a few blinks of the eye. On the way back I veer off the beaten path to a couple of my favorite winding roads. It was on these roads that I found the all wheel drive to be a huge benefit. Once again there was little or no body roll and the car stayed firmly on the road as if it was running on rails. The brakes were good, but not phenomenal. After studying the car it seems that Ford used the same size calipers and brake pads for the SHO that they used for the regular Taurus? Not sure why, but it was defintley a mistake. The braking was good enough, but with that kind of power and speed, they may have wanted to throw on something a little more accommidating. Other than that these are awesome cars. Alot of fun to drive and they have beautiful interiors. I'm glad to see the American's bounce back and show the World that this is where it all started and that we are capable of building great cars. Overall this is a great car. It looks good, behaves well, and has a temper that can be unwrapped with just the nudge of the accelerator. Welcome back Ford we've been waiting for you!

A must have for any family - The 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ

I'll start by saying I have always liked the Chevrolet Tahoes since their rebadging from the Blazer back in 1994. In 1994 I was a senior in high school and would've literally given one of my arms to have the big bulky, yet gorgeous Tahoe to cruise my buddys and myself all over the country. Since then things have changed not only in my life, but obviously with the whole auto industry, and the World as well. In the time since then, I feel like I've gotten a little better, but I've not evolved near what the Tahoe has in that same time span. Not only are the Tahoes as technologically advanced as almost every suv on the road, but they've grown into their body and their style to become one of the most popular suv's in America. The 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe I had the chance to drive was the LTZ version which is pretty much as loaded as they come, with all the bells and whistles a man could ever want. This particular Tahoe is dressed in a black metallic exterior paint job and it's accented perfectly inside with supple black leather seating surfaces and gorgeous dark wood trim. The truck was equipped with Navigation, Heated Seats, Air Cooled Seats, Rear View Camera, Third Row Seating, TV/DVD, and to much more to even attempt to list. Our Tahoe has the 5.3L Vortec engine and I cranked it up with the remote start on the keyless entry key fob as I slowly near the vehicle. These trucks are as sharp as any Suv on the road if you ask me. They have a nice masculinity in the lines and I believe black is the only color the Tahoe should even be available in, because it looks perfect in the black with chrome accents. Several chrome accents and huge chrome rims greet you way before you even get close to the truck. I place my foot on the solid running board and hopped up and in the Tahoe and adjusted my Power Seat, radio channels, heat and heated seats. I was perfectly content. I had great visibilty in all directions and I felt very safe in this truck. I slowly drove out on to the main thoroughfare and the power seemed to be just right and the transmission shifted almost effortlessly. The sound system was done by Bose, so I went ahead and tuned it to something I could enjoy and started my little cruise. The truck is by no means light on it's feet or all that great on corners, but I could sacrifice a few things due to the interior appointments as well as the styling. I went ahead and jumped on 65 South and quickly merged into traffic. Anybody who has been to Clarksville, IN or Louisville, KY would know that we have one of our two bridges out of commission, so crossing back to Kentucky normally takes about 45 mins. I quickly found my spot in traffic and got comfortable. And I do mean comfortable. These things are like living rooms on wheels . The seats are awesome, the leather is supple yet stiff, and the Bose sound system is as good as anything on a production vehicle that I've ever heard. I won't bore you to much with the details of my 45 mins in traffic, but I will say this, these are awesome suv's and anyone would be content and commfortable driving one on a daily basis. My only complaint about the 2010 Tahoe is the third row, which would not be nice for an adult, but kids might be ok as long as they never age or grow taller. Other than that, this is almost a perfect suv in my eyes. Geat looks, Great power and towing, beautiful interior, and tons of ammenities. If you can afford a Tahoe and you have more than one or two kids, this would be a great truck to own. All 3 owners of our dealerships drive Tahoes the majority of the time and these guys have their pick of over 700 cars. To me that's saying alot. In the end these are great trucks and if you can afford the price tag you should defintley give the Tahoe a test drive.

2010 Buick Lacrosse CXL AWD Redesigned and refined

My curiosity peaked when I saw we had just traded for a 2010 Buick Lacrosse CXL AWD on my stock sheet. I had read several reviews and stories in regards to the "New" Buick brand. An almost relaunch of older name badges coupled with today's technologies. I myself have never been excited or intrigued by Buicks, but I am defintley curious to see where this brand is headed in the future. When I approached the vehicle what I saw was a thing of beauty, a very well sculpted vehicle in a gorgeous metallic pewter exterior. Shiny chrome wheels and chrome accents really jump off the car due to the lines and dark exterior paint job. This is not what I expected from Buick. When I think Buick I think big, bulky, and unattractice vehicles made for old people who don't want to spend the extra dough for a Cadillac. What I saw was quite the opposite. The Lacrosse is still big, and slightly bulky, but very classy in her shape and with tons of eye appeal. With the keyless remote in hand I pushed the remote starter button and the car started right up. I easily slid into the cabin area which was very well appointed and very sophisticated in terms of textures, colors, and ergonomics. The seat was very comfortable and once I made my adjustments I felt ready for a long drive. The dash was illuminated by a beautiful blue lighting and the gauges were very polished and good looking as well. There was no shortage of buttons in the CXL, in fact this one is as loaded as they come, having a touch screen Navigation, Rear View Camera, Premium Hardon Kardon sound system, Heated Steering Wheel, Heated and Air Conditioned Seats, and so much more. As always I program my favorite local channels and head off towards the expressway. The first thing I noticed was how quiet the cabin was, there was little to no road or engine noise at all inside the cabin. The vehicle felt firm, slightly heavy, and very safe inside. The accelration was nice, but not extremley impressive. The ride however, was super quiet, near silence and the car was very well behaved and well mannered and literally drove as a straight as a laser beam down the roadway. I finally near the on ramp and allow a little space between myself and the car in front of me, so I could see how well the car accelerates. As soon as there was enough space, I slightly nudge my right foot into the accelerator and the car delivered quite a bit of pick up, but not before a little lag to catch up to my foot. Once again the car took off straight as an arrow and was extrmeley comfortable from every position, except for one. Visibilty! Visbility is fair, but not excellent. The A-Pillars seemed to be at least 5 inches wide and left quite a bit to be seen when cornering or turning. The C-Pillars were monsterous and left alot of unseen road on the sides and behind the driver. All of that being said I think the all new redesign of the Lacrosse is awesome. The car looks phenomenal, behaves wonderfully, and was as quiet as anything I've driven in a while. Buick nailed the ergonomics inside the cabin, the styling was classy and bold, and the textures were not something you would expect to see in an American car. For a bachelor, the size and style of this vehicle would not be perfect for my lifestyle, but as I approach 40, I could see myslef driving something like this Lacrosse and being very happy with my purchase. All in all the redesign was very needed and welcomed. It's very apparent that Buick wants to compete with the big dogs, and they are right on track to build a competitive automobile.

Who says size matters? A review of the 2010 Mini Cooper S

Since 1959 Mini has built fun to drive, fuel efficient, little vehicles with the spirit of sports cars. Over time I have driven plenty of Minis and have always quite enjoyed their ability to weave in and out of traffic and handle corners at break neck speeds. When the chance arose to drive the new 2010 Mini Cooper S, I was well studied and ready to have a little bit of fun. The 2010 Mini Cooper S we have in stock is dressed in a light greenish silver metallic paint job and is accented inside with sporty dark black leather seating surfaces. At first glance Minis look very cramped and small, but once inside the cockpit there seems to be plenty of room for two people to travel comfortably. Why they pretend that you can use a backseat I don't really know, but we've seen this for years in our industry as a way to list the car as a 2 + 2 for insurance cost purposes. In 2000 BMW broke apart the Rover Group which owned Mini, but BMW decided to hang on to the Mini brand, and I'm sure plenty of people were thrilled with that decision. Edmunds.com put it best by saying Mini is "A marvelous marriage of British character and German know-how" All of the above being said it's time to get down to the actual testing of the car. I apporached our Mini Cooper S with it's circular key fob, (No metal Key Involved) and pressed the unlock button. I slowly slid in the driver's seat and positioned all of my mirrors and adjusted the tight fitting sport seat to my specifications. I slowly pressed the keyfob in it's designated spot, pushed the brake, and the start button at the same time to awaken the little 1.6 Litre 4 cylinder engine. There wasn't much of a growl, but more or less a purr from underneath the hood. As I slowly slide off the lot and onto the main thoroughfare, I can tell that this drive is going to be alot of fun. I swerve from left to right like an Indy car driver before their first lap, and I can already see that corners, and curves are going to be straight devoured by this little car. I'm sure flying down the highway would be plenty of fun in this Mini, but I believe that it's the day to day whipping in and out of traffic that keeps the loyalists coming back for more every year. I can't go into too much detail about the movements I made in this Mini, but I can tell you, that there wasn't a place a good driver couldn't fit this little car into, no matter how fast you or the traffic might be going. I couldn't wait to do some cornenring in this Mini so I took it down to River Rd in Louisville and had the time of my life. As far as cornering, speed, braking, and comfort go, these Mini Coopers are absolutely awesome. If you have kids, dogs, or anything other than one more passenger, I would say that this is probably the wrong car for you. There is little to no room in the backseats and the trunk is very limited as well. If you can get away with just enough space for two, than this would make the perfect car for commuting back and forth from work. The Mini Cooper S gets an astounding 34 mpg on the highway, which leaves plenty of money for all of the speeding tickets I would accumulte if I owned the vehicle and I would imagine that even so much as a drive to pick up the dry cleaning could be an adventure in one of these little cars. The braking was far superior to anything I had driven lately, and the weight proportions were right on point to keep the car grounded and steady going in and out of hard corners. The acceleration wasn't scary, but wasn't lackluster by any means either. The styling is gorgeous, but not intended for everyone and the small size of the vehicle sort of takes the masculinity out of the body, but the drive brings all of that right back. I'm never easy to impress when it comes to vehicles, but this Mini Cooper S, was exactly what it was supposed to be, FUN!!!!!!!!The Mini Cooper S is a blast to drive and would be an absolute pleasure to drive on a day to day basis. BMW gives an excellent warranty as well as some free maintenance and there are now Mini dealers in almost every state in the Country. If the interaction between car and driver is something that's big on your list when car shopping, take the time to test drive a Mini Cooper S. You will not be disappointed and if you get out of a Mini Cooper S after a drive without a smile on your face, then that's totally your own fault. Although I could never own one as a first car, I think a Mini Cooper S, would be a great car to have on the side for weekends or short trips to the store. All in all, for what it is, the Mini Cooper S is an awesome little car and should be driven at least once if you're out car shopping.

A moment with the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V

From the moment I saw this 2011 Cadillac CTS-V on my stock sheet, I couldn't wait for her arrival. Over the last few years, I've read countless reviews and accolades for the vehicle people are crowning the Fastest Production Car on the Planet! At 556 Horsepower this Cadillac isn't your Grandpa's old Deville. This is a turn of the times for Cadillac, an almost put up or shut up moment for American Automobile manufacturer's. I waited for the vehicle to clear the inspection process as well as the detailing, and when she finally showed her face in the sun, she was every bit as beautiful as I imagined she would be. Dressed in a bright silver metallic paint job, this CTS-V looked absolutely breathtaking. After several laps around the car to grasp every line and every piece of sheet metal I slowly slid into the plush, yet sporty black leather CTS-V Driver's seat. As with most luxury cars of this time, there is only a key remote, you have no actual key, just a key fob. All I had to do to ignite the roar of this 6.2L Supercharged V-8 beast was press on the brake pedal and turn the ignition switch slightly forward. What arose from under the hood was a growl that would make a tiger nervous. This thing sounds like a freaking rocket ship. As I sat with a grin from ear to ear, I made myself more familiar with the cockpit. Power everything and leather litter every inch of the vehicle's sleek and sophisticated interior. With the touch of a button the Navigation screen arose from the depths of the dash to show me Cadillac has not dropped a beat in the technology department. As I slid the transmission into reverse the rear view camera automatically presented the surroundings behind me on my generous Nav screen. I slowly backed out, but took the time to change the BOSE stereo system and all of a sudden Jay-Z and Kanye West came to life as if they were sitting in the backseat. The driver's seat felt perfect and fitted specifically to me, the driver. I finally head forward and take a quick turn off the lot, and with just the slightest push on the accelerator the CTS-V spoke to me with beautiful exhaust notes and a small slip from the rear end. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to have to mash the accelerator to feel the power of this baby. As I pull up to the stop sign, I look all around to make sure that no vehicles, bikers, or pedestrians are anywhere in sight. I barely :) push my foot into the accelerator and what happened next was mind boggling. My head was immediatley thrown into the headrest and gravity had taken over. In less than 4 seconds she was screaming way over 60 miles per hour down the roadway. The transmission was shifting through gears so quietly and seamlessly that I felt one with the car. The steering was tight, yet nimble, and with just a touch of the brake we came to a screeching halt. I love cars, always have and always will. I have driven some of the most exotic cars on the planet, but this one was different, this was a sedan, with my grandpa's favorite nameplate. For a moment at the light I wondered what my grandpa would have said and thought about this vehicle. And then with a blink of an eye, the light changed and we were shooting back to home base, while praying no one recognized the car or the driver. When I pulled in, the people on the lot froze to stare at this beautiful piece of automotive history. I found a spot to park and gently slid the car into park. A crowd quickly gathered around the car in conversation and awe. Before I could even slide out of the cockpit, the CTS-V reminded me that this is what we come to work for everyday, this is what being an enthusiast is all about, and this is what American excess has brought to our driveways. Personally, I would rate this car as high on my list as anything I have ever driven. From the styling to the performance, the CTS-V is my new favorite for 2012. She looks as stunning as she behaves, and she is as beautiful as any woman on the planet. I owe a huge thanks to Cadillac, I needed that reminder, I appreciate where you are headed, and I can't wait to see what's next!
